Upcoming Letterpress Classes!

I’m teaching three small group workshops at Pyramid Atlantic in the next few months–if you’ve been wanting to learn, this is a great time!

Intro to Letterpress Workshop: Saturday, August 15, 2009
A small group workshop for beginners or those wanting a refresher will take place on August 15 from 10am-4pm. The workshop will cover how to set metal type, how to use a Vandercook press, how to troubleshoot to get good prints, how to clean up and maintain the presses, and some information about how to use digital technology in combination with letterpress.  Each participant will print a few lines of text of their own choosing.  $120.  Registration closes on August 1.

Letterpress for Graphic Designers: Two Saturdays–August 22, 2009 plus either September 5 or September 19
Graphic designers: Learn how to use photopolymer technology to print your own designs with letterpress!  Small group class begins on August 22 with the basics of designing for photopolymer and operating a Vandercook press.  Then the group divides into two sections for more individualized attention as you print with a photopolymer plate of your own design.  Choose to print your work on either September 5 or September 19, from 10am-4pm.  $250 plus materials. Requirement: firm grounding in Adobe Creative Suite.  Registration closes on August 10.
